Data Rights, Corrections and Complaints

Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION]

Use this page to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or removed, to correct information about your company in the Gaming Eminence platform, or to make a complaint. Email [PRIVACY EMAIL]. There is no charge.

1. Requests about your personal data

You can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we hold personal data about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your data, or stop using it;
  • stop sending you marketing emails; or
  • move data you gave us to another provider.

What we need from you. Your name, the email address you want us to reply to, and enough detail for us to find your information (for example your employer and job title if you are named in our industry data). If we cannot confirm who you are from what you give us, we may ask for something more. We only ask for what is reasonable and proportionate.

How long it takes. We respond within one month of receiving your request, or of receiving anything further we have asked for. For complex requests we may extend this by up to two more months and will tell you why within the first month. Our searches will be reasonable and proportionate.

2. If you are named in the platform

The platform records business professionals in their professional capacity, using public and professional sources. If you object to being included, we will:

  1. remove your contact details and stop showing you in the platform;
  2. tell approved platform users who may have taken your details that you have objected, where we can identify them; and
  3. keep only your name, employer and the date of your request on a suppression list, so we do not add you again from public sources.

If information about you is wrong or out of date, for example you have changed role, tell us and we will update or remove it.

3. Correcting a company record

If you represent a company and believe the platform records something about it inaccurately (such as a licence, brand, ownership link or supplier relationship), send us the record and the evidence for the correction.

  • We acknowledge your request within 5 business days.
  • We check your evidence against our sources and our published evidence standards.
  • Where the evidence supports a change, we update the record and its source.
  • Where an item comes from an official source such as a regulator register, we reflect what that source says. If the register itself is wrong, the correction needs to be made with the regulator; we will update our record once it is.
  • We tell you the outcome and our reasons.

We do not remove accurate, evidenced information because a company would prefer it not to appear.

4. Correcting our journalism

If you believe an article we published contains a factual error, tell us which article, what is wrong, and any evidence. We review every request and correct material errors promptly, noting significant corrections on the article.

5. Making a complaint

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data or a request you made, you can complain to us at [PRIVACY EMAIL]. You do not need to use any particular words; any message raising a concern about how we have used your data will be treated as a complaint.

  1. Acknowledgement. We acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, and usually much sooner, with a reference number.
  2. Investigation. We look into it without undue delay, make any enquiries needed and keep you informed of progress.
  3. Outcome. We tell you what we found, what we have done or will do, and our reasons.

If you are not satisfied with our response, or at any time, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113.
